Council Member Ferguson

Teresa Ferguson was born in Waukegan, Illinois and moved to Wartburg, Tennessee in 1974. She moved to Kingston in 1982. She graduated from Wartburg Central High, has a BS degree in Business Administration from Tusculum College, Greenville, and an AS degree in Secretarial Science from Roane State Community College, Harriman.

 Teresa has worked at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory (UT-Battelle, LLC) since 1980 beginning as a summer student and now serves as an Office Manager in the Engineering Science and Technology Division (one of the largest research divisions at the Lab). She manages multiple tasks for the division such as serving as the division’s Education Coordinator and Workforce Diversity Representative and she supervises five staff members.

 While at ORNL Teresa has served as the Lab’s Values Co-Chair, has been active in many programs such as the International Festival (serving as Chairperson in 2005), serves on the Team UT-Battelle Board and has served on several cultural committees such as Women’s History Month, Disabilities Awareness, Black History, etc. For the past four years she has walked with the UT-Battelle Team participating in the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer Foundation Race.

 Within Roane County she currently serves as a board member for Continuing Kingston (past president in 2003/2004), is a member of the Rotary Club of Kingston, a member of Roane County’s United Way Allocation Review Committee, and she has participated with the Salvation Army in their annual “Kettle Collection, Bell Ringing” fund raiser. She was a member of Leadership Roane County class of 2004, has provided support to the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) Steering Committee, Habitat for Humanity, Keep Roane County Beautiful, children’s fishing rodeo, Coats for the Cold collection/distribution, has supported local walk-a-thons for the Humane Society, March of Dimes, etc. She has been heavily involved in politics (local, state, and national levels).

 Teresa is an active member of the Star of Hope Chapel in Wartburg. Currently, she serves on the church Board and is the church pianist. She is the daughter of Enith Davis, Wartburg and the late Grady Davis
